Happy New Year

Welcome to a new Shammy's Year and a new division.

Hopefully everyone’s enjoyed the holiday season and no one has injured themselves stuffing a turkey with electric mistletoe up a Christmas tree decorated with Shammy stubby holders (as quoted directly from the police report).

New Draw

This year’s draw has been finalised and is here. We’ll have some new and interestingly themed bus trips to make in the coming season. I’m thinking leotards.

Upcoming Dates and Events

Training Starts:

2nd February

Location TBD

We’ll keep you posted about Junior Registration Day and The Season Launch Pub Crawl. (What crazy theme will Nacho come up with?)

Fitness

If you’ve found that you put on 10kgs during a recent rugby tour and now have an ice-cream addiction then you may want to consider going for a run. No matter how big you get the marquees in the rotunda will not be available as Shammy’s Wear.

This is going to be our toughest season for some time. You will need to prepare yourself appropriately for the step up in division. The earlier you start your off season the better. There is still time to join TJ's Pre Season Fitness Sessions where you will get professional assistance in a program tailored for the rugby season. If you want to secure your position in a team or move up the grades this year don’t wait until you’ve been dropped to do something about it. Get a head start on your competition both within the club and without.

All players should be engaging in some sort of fitness activity over the summer.

Cheers
Nacho (no more corn cheeps and cheese for heem)
