Hello Shammies,
I hope everyone is feeling okay after a massive weekend of rugby with most of the club backing up for another go on Sunday. Great effort lads!
It all began on Saturday though, with the trek up to Killara to take on Brothers/Forestville Ferrets/whoever wanted to show up and start a fight. The top 3 grades all managed bonus point wins, while 4's went down to a stacked brothers team that would probably beat their 2nds.
Meanwhile, down at Chatswood Oval, the Shammies colts consolidated top spot with a big victory over Gordon.
For 2's, 3's, and 4's a quiet night in the hyperbaric chamber was called for, as they had to do it all again on Sunday against Epping. 2's made it 10 points from a possible 10 with a 28-21 win, including a magical debut at no.10 from one Scott Nash. 3's did it a little tougher, going down 20-12, while 4's got back up off the canvas with a 36-5 drubbing.
This Saturday sees us hosting Blue Mountains in our very last home game of the year. They will still be hurting from the 5-0 result earlier in the year and are to come out fired up. Also, for grades 1-3, the finals effectively start this weekend with must-win games against well placed opposition. Colts have received a forfeit, setting up a final round clash with Epping to decide the minor premiership.
If everyone could get down to the ground nice and early to help out it would be much appreciated.
As this is our last home game, we will be having a Lock-In after the 1st grade game. This means anyone who has received yellow or red cards this year and has not paid their fine (Yellow = 1 case, Red = 2) is required to do so this Saturday. You know who you are!
When we're finished having a beer on Quinny, we'll be heading down to the Aussie Youth Hotel for what is sure to be an epic night.
