Greg “Madsy” Matsin

The news of your decision to retire from playing for our great club brings me both great sadness and joy.
The sadness is that we will not be able to see your smiling face with boots on (cigarette in hand) ready to proudly represent the Shammies on the field again. The joy is the memories you have given myself per-sonally and everyone else who has had the opportunity to spend time with you over your wonderful playing career.
I’m sure that on the cusp of a significant year the draw to play on would be huge. I’m also sure that Clare is very pleased (purely for health reasons) of your decision.
I very much look forward to many meetings over many more years at PRUFC.
Very well played my friend.
Yours in Rugby
Rod “Thommo” Thompson, President
